Oakville/Georgetown Music Lesson Scholarship Program
The music scholarship program was created to provide music lessons to children in Oakville and Georgetown Ontaro that cannot afford lessons themselves.
Each one year scholarship includes a weekly music lesson on the instrument of their choice and and ensemble practice (if applicable) at the Academy of Music in Oakville or the Georgetown School of Music. All financial support comes from the Oakville Celtic Fiddle Club, the Georgetown Celtic Fiddle Orchestra, and the Academy of Music. A total of 6 scholarships per year will be awarded to children between the ages of 8 and 14 years at a total cost of about $6,700 for each season.
Qualified students will be chosen by Big Brothers / Big Sisters in Oakville and Links to Care in Georgetown and will be expected to attend a minimmum of 80% of their music lessons and ensembles.
If you feel that you, or someone you know is elegeble for the program please call the school and we will be happy to put you in touch with Big Brothers / Big Sisters or Links to Care.
The Oakville / Georgetown Music Lesson Scolarship Program is a joint venture between the Oakville Celtic Fiddle Club, the Georgetown Celtic Fiddle Orchestra, and the Academy of Music.
