New classes begin January 20, 2012 click here for schedule and more
The Rock Band program matches
guitar, bass drum, vocal and piano students together to learn rock songs that
they choose with their instructor. This is not just a jam session but a genuine
opportunity to work with and gain experience in a real rock based ensemble.
- Re-enforce what your child is learning in private lessons
- Enable him to
play and rehearse with others
- Acquire an understanding of how other music
instruments interact with his/her instrument
- Increase confidence to play in
front of others
- Broaden overall knowledge and possibilities that exist in
the study of music
Vocal Choir
One of the best ways for young people to express their creativity, meet new friends and develop a range of skills is to join the choir. Young people are offered a safe and healthy environment in which they can make a positive contribution and achieve personal and team success. They can explore and develop their talent and enjoy the social benefits of learning and performing with their peers.
Guitar Club
Jam with kids that love guitar too!
Under the direction of the teacher students will learn how to perform guitar music together while focusing on modern rock and folk songs. Taking part in these guitar groups will improve the students technique, rhythm, and feel for music while also proving and fun social outlet. This program is the perfect addition to private guitar lessons.
Classical String Ensemble
This ensemble is open to all violin students from near-beginner to Grade III. The emphasis is on having fun and learning classical and popular music together in an informal and non-competitive atmosphere. While the group will focus on ensemble skills and developing general musical/string skills, it is also an opportunity to meet other violin students and make some great music!
Junior Fiddlers
The Oakville Junior Fiddlers is a program designed for violin and fiddle students between the ages of 8 and 14 to learn and perform traditional Celtic music from Scotland, Ireland, and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Students work in an orchestra style setting while they play their music all together. The music itself is divided into separate parts for each level of student. This allows kids that have never played before to learn along with kids that have been playing for several years. Children with less experience will get parts that are more appropriate for their age and level. |
