Since 1994 the Academy of Music has taught over 5000 students ranging in age from 3 to adults in Oakville Ontario. We offer private music lessons on piano, pre-school piano, guitar, voice, violin, viola, fiddle, ukulele, drums, saxophone, clarinet, and flute, as well as pop choirs, and rock bands. We are also the proud home of the Oakville Celtic Fiddle Orchestra.

We are the only school in Oakville Ontario that offers all of these popular instruments: Private Piano, Preschool Piano, Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Voice, Singing, Bass, Drum Set, Ukulele, Celtic Fiddle, Classical Violin, Viola, Saxophone, Clarinet, and Flute. All in one location!

Our teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as York University, Western University, Humber College, Mohawk College, and the University of Toronto. Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours of Canada, the US, and Europe and have over 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and strive to get to know each student and their parent on a personal level.
3. The widest range of music lesson times available six days a week!
We are the only music school in Oakville that offers music lessons six days a week including Saturdays from early in the morning to late at night to accommodate your busy schedule.
9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
4. Music lessons for all ages
Take a walk through our school and you’ll see children & adults of all ages experiencing the joy of music. In fact, we have many students as young as 3 and students in their 70’s learning music for the first time.
Adults: It’s never too late to learn how to play an instrument. We welcome beginners and all levels, no matter what your age!

6. Instruments available for beginners
Don’t have a guitar, piano, ukulele, or violin yet? You can rent a keyboard, guitar, ukulele, or violin for $25 per month with no long term commitment. Visit our Musical instrument page for details.
7. Regular performance opportunities
Every parent wants to know if their child is learning and if they are really progressing. One of the best ways to understand if your investment in lessons is really worth it is to have your child participate in a recital. We have a minimum of 2 optional, low pressure music recitals every year designed to give students a comfortable outlet to showcase their talents.. We hold these locally, at St. Paul’s United Church in Oakville, so you don’t have to travel far for a top-notch recital experience. Our recital location has a grand piano, so piano students are not playing on just a keyboard. Our sound system and guitar amplifiers ensure a quality experience for every student!
8. Optional Music Examinations
The Academy of Music offers optional music examinations two times per year. These examinations ensure that our students are fully prepared to go to the next level and contribute to the long term success of the music student. Note: Music exams and recitals are optional.
9. Ontario Music Teachers Guild Membership
The Academy is a member of the Ontario Music Teacher’s Guild, a non-profit organization dedicated to continually improving and enhancing the experience of learning music. Membership in the guild allows the school to participate in 2 annual music festivals per year designed to celebrate the art of music performance and allows students to gain performance experience and showcase their talents . We are the only school in Oakville with the OMTG membership.
10. Music Lesson Rewards for Kids
Academy of Music students earn music points every lesson that they can save to buy cool music prizes. They can earn extra music points by practicing more, memorizing their lesson song, or performing in a recital. 11. Open door policy
You are welcome to sit in and observe your child’s lessons at any time. If you prefer, you can wait in our comfortable lobby and enjoy personal time.
12. Fully stocked lesson studios
Our rooms are stocked with everything you need for lessons, including guitar amps, drum sets, keyboards, pianos and more. All you need to bring is your instrument. We have invested thousands of dollars on our studio to be sure we have everything you need to learn music effectively
13. Convenient locations
The Academy of Music in Oakville is conveniently located on Speers Road at Fourth Line. Due to our central location our school is convenient for residents of Oakville as well as East Burlington.
Our Georgetown School is on Guelph Street just East of Tim Horton`s (across from Canadian Tire). Perfect for North and South Georgetown as well as Acton. Norval, and the rest of Halton Hills.

14. Month to Month lessons
The Academy does not require full semester registration for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to-month basis.
